I’m not familiar with this type of thing I’m seeing. I would imagine it might be considered NSFW.

The guy who uploaded the video warns:

UPDATED(1/31)This is possibly the most disturbing thing I’ve seen on the Interweb. I’m sorry for inflicting this upon all of you.

He says it’s the work of Japanese performance artist wotaken, but I can’t read Japanese to verify.

January 27th, 2008The Vivisect Playset

Gallery 1988: Los Angeles held a release party last night for the Vivisect Playset vinyl toys series.  You might recall our mentioning this gallery for the recent exhibit Under the Influence: A Tribute to Stan Lee.

…[T]he Vivisect Playset is a limited edition group of boutique vinyl toys based on an art show we’ve had for the past few years, curated and born from the mind of Luke Chueh. So…sort of like the Smurfs we all collected as kids, but these are way cooler and limited (almost like pieces of art themselves). This set features toys designed by 1988 regulars Luke Chueh, Joe Ledbetter, Greg “Craola” Simkins, Thomas Han, Amanda Visell, Peter Gronquist and Anthony Ausgang  [...] They come “blind box,” meaning you buy just a nice little box, and it could any of the toys, or some special surprise, inside.

You can pick up a blind box at Vinyl Fallout, in case you can’t get to the gallery.  My favorite is this jewel by Amanda Visell, but I’d be happy to get any of them.

Plop plop fizz fizz

Looks like gelfling, smells like gelflingI don’t like words with a lot of r’s.  Thanks to school-provided speech therapy, “horror” is manageable, but I still avoid “rural” at all costs, preferring “country” or even “backwoods” when in a bind.

Everything is relative. I am proud that I can say “orrery”, while Arkansas-based Eugene Sargent makes them by hand.  I’ve had a thing for these temporal maps or (spatial timepieces) ever since I saw Aughra’s in The Dark Crystal.  You might also remember the side quest to rebuild the orrery in Oblivion’s Arcane University (though it’s DLC unless you have a later version of the game) or that  Ozymandias of Watchmen fame had one.

Must… Build… Something…Some commenters at the Boing Boing post where I found this wondered why there are only six planets.  There’s no “about” page, but I assume he’s following the tradition of only showing the six planets visible to the naked eye from Earth (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn).

Every time I see something like this, I want to move somewhere with a garage.
