Hot Geek 10 Results
Here at long last are the results of the Angry Puppy Hot Geek 10.
I don’t have much to say about them, since this was your poll, but I will add that none of my three choices made the top ten. For a hint, the hottest man on a geek show is in this clip:
Our hit count went through the roof for this poll, but it has settled back down to pre-invasion levels, so I know that I am talking directly to our regulars here. Are you satisfied with the results? Did any of your favorites rank much higher or lower than you thought they would?

I can pull the numbers before the so-called “fanboi invasion”, but the poll plug-in I use doesn’t let me export them, and I definitely don’t want to go through all 80-some nominees one by one. However, you can tell by the numbers of votes, which nominees would not be in the actual Angry Puppy fans’ lists and shift everyone else up accordingly.

Yeah. My top three now would have been:
1. Jamie Bamber
2. Zachary Quinto
3. Sean Maher
You should make people register on your Website in order to get more accurate poll results. But it’s probably far more trouble than it’s worth.

I can’t believe Zachary Quinto didn’t make it either! I think the list is cool but I can’t shake my annoyance with Jared Padalecki as number 1… Not really a fan of the show and he is “hot” but not what I would expect to see on this list!

Jared Padalecki has always struck me as a man that women find attractive, not men. My flame dame LOVES Supernatural and writes slash about the wangsty incest of Dean and Dean; I make fun of the show and go drool over James Marsden.

actually, bill gates getting 15 votes worries me much more than all the thousands during the invasion of the fanpeople(s).

I never understood the obsession with Jared Padalecki… He doesn’t really do anything for me.
I also can’t believe Zachary Quinto didn’t make the top 10. :( Ah well, he had my vote.

btw. is there a way of NOT having the puppy-bone picture next to ones post?
or rather (as - of course- I don’t mind the picture itself): is there a way of having A DIFFERENT picture next to ones post?

Cory - Wordpress makes it pretty simple to require registration, but since you have to register at AfterElton to post over there, I wanted to be sure there was a place where you could just post random comments about the vlog/blog with no effort.
Cory, Tyler, Maria - Zachary Quinto was also one of my three! He must have some special gay appeal.
Tyler, Anthony, Maria - Those are my thoughts too on Jared Padalecki. Of course, he’s attractive, but I don’t know many gay folks that would pick him out of a list.
Lily - You mean you haven’t seen that “sexy” shot of Bill Gates as a young man cuddled up with his computer? ;)

Um, actually gay folks who watch Supernatural (and before that Gilmore Girls) could certainly pick Jared Padalecki out of a list. I think this is the scene that gets everyone (gay guys and straight girls) all in a tizzy: {Link}
Supernatural is really a very good fantasy-horror series, especially when you watch episodes back-to-back-to-back.
Both he and Jensen Ackles made the AfterElton Hot 100 list 2 yrs running, with Jared #43 and Jensen #13 this year. They were much closer ranked last year.
I think I was the one who nominated Jared for the Geek 10, but I did NOT recruit the fangirl sites to vote.
I did mention the poll to a couple of Stargate sites and that probably bumped up the vote totals for Michael Shanks, Ben Browder, Richard Dean Anderson and Amanda Tapping.

Hey, RJ. You’re probably right. Most of my gay friends are into big, bearish types, so someone like Jared Padalecki wouldn’t grab their attention. But I live in a bubble. ;)
Hey, thanks for nominating him and passing the link to other sites. Our complaints were tongue-in-cheek. If only some of the thousands of non-regulars had clicked on an ad or two, I would’ve been *more* than thrilled. ;)
