Theme Songs That Probably Shouldn’t Have Lyrics

May 10th, 2008 by Lee

To this day, I can’t hear the Star Wars theme without humming under my breath, “Star Wars! Nothing but Star Wars!”

In honor of that clip, I found some other sci-fi themes that friendly neighborhood geeks have added words to.

If Björk ever does another Medúlla-style album, she should hire this next guy. Check out his a capella Battlestar Galactica theme:

I thought this was Dina Martina singing the Doctor Who theme at first:

Here’s an official one for Stargate SG-1:

This guy owns the sci-fi theme song space.

Star Trek: Voyager

Star Trek: Deep Space 9

Something kinda related to the post, on the UK version of the Weakest Link there was a Doctor Who special at some point just after the second series and John Barrowman sings the Doctor Who theme tune with David Tennant providing the background. Heres the link on YouTube:

Hey guys great vlog! I loved the doctor who review. Pompeii wasn’t one of the best episodes for me, but I did love to celtic references. I also have to say that I agree hole heartedly with your analysis of the film constantine. Most of the time a comic book film sucks, but come on. That was terrible. If you want a good constantine book try “empathy is the enemy”. It was the first, and only, constantine book I have read and I have to say it was really fantastic. My dad used to sing the Bill Murray spin on the star wars theme all the time when I was a kid, it was a real treat to hear the real thing for the first time. So far dune is fantastic by the way, I am about half way through.
