I have to say I’ve given up trying to understand the relationships on torchwood because they make no sense to me.
Why is Tosh so in love with owen when all he’s done is treat her like dirt, why is ianto so into jack considering that jack killed lisa who he was so in love with in the first place and what is it about gwen that has so many guys go crazy for her?(rhys, owen, jack)
On a more positive note, do you guys watch Life on Mars or Ashes to Ashes?
They are both great scifi/mystery shows and only have 20 eps between them so far if you havent seen them yet.
I guarantee you’ll love them.

Hey to clear some thing up with “A day in the death” I figured I would leave a comment. The ‘Bomb’ in the episode turns out not to be a bomb, but rather some communication device from another world in response to Nasa modules sent in the 70s *shrug* not sure that is any better then him hugging it and making it harmless :D
Oh and I don’t think Jack is straight in the least. He is from so far in the future that the human race has abandoned gender roles in response to meeting varied alien races. He isn’t gay straight or bi, he is omni which baciscally makes him sluutt.. Though I do agree he isn’t having anything more then fun with Ianto and they are trying to have him feel more for Gwen.
Love the vlog!

I was interested in seeing the original Funny Games, but I never did. From what I read, the original had a ton of fourth-wall-breaking moments.
Also, Boston. Mmmmmm.

I stumbled across these the other day and thought you guys might find them fun (you probably have seen them, or even might’ve linked to them at one point):

Anyway, I thought I’d start the hate mail (kidding) about your comment regarding Jack.
I don’t think it’s the case where Jack is straight, with a bit of gay on the side for fun. From Dr Who, there is some evidence (more in Series 3 than series 1) that says Jack could be/is in love with the Doctor.
I agree the writers are setting this up to have Ianto in love with Jack, but not have Jack reciprocate (other than on the “let’s have sex” level). I don’t think that it would be fair to accuse Jack of being straight.
By the way, I love how you two kept wanting to talk about something, but not wanting to give out spoilers. I appreciate the lack of spoilers.

Lisa, I agree and don’t know why Tosh is chasing after that Owen. BTW I did try to watch Life On Mars (the title resonated - one of my favorite Bowie songs) but couldn’t get into it. Haven’t seen Ashes as yet.
Steve, thanks for the Doctor strip… so cool! Like the Mario too, bet Lee will like it even more (he’s the big Mario fan!)

Life On Mars is a difficult show to get into at the beginning, as for Ashes to Ashes I feel i is a step up on LoM and much much much easier to get into, we just had the season 1 finally here in the uk and it blew my mind.

Hey guys great vlog as usual. I must say that the aquaman conundrum is an awesome phrase that I have began to use to describe movies and shows. Thank you for teaching me this fabulous new phrase to describe everything with one of these nasty plot holes.

I completely agree about “A day in the death” and the “aqua man” thing. Actually when the whole needing a dead guy thing came up i was hoping that Jack and Co were setting him up so Owen would feel good about himself and useful again. Especially when it seems like they could have just had Tosh knock on the door and talk to him.
Thoughts about “Something Borrowed” to made me think of “Hells Bells” and scared me that the wedding would not actually happen.
Alright, how could i not rant about Jack again. Its been bugging me for weeks and i think, thinking back to him in S1 DW, he wants to be in a relationship of three, like when he was with Rose and the Doctor.
However i am no less concerned with him and more concerned about the emotional heart break of doom i fear is in Ianto’s future.

We find ourselves using Aquaman Conundrum all the time now… sadly far too often.
I was just telling Lee how much I loved the character Cypher in the original New Mutants because what made him interesting was that he felt he wasn’t as important or useful as the other guys. And the absolute worst Cypher moment ever was the time the entire universe was about the destroyed (I think in one of the Annuals) and the ONLY thing that could save them was a control panel in an alien language… oh if ONLY we had someone with us who could understand languages…

This is not hate mail about the Torchwood thing, but I do have some comments.
I don’t think that Jack is straight. When Jack was first introduced in episode 1.9, The Doctor refers to him as a “51st Century Guy,” implying that gender roles and sexuality are not really labelled in the future. He flirts with men, women and robots, and by the time he gets left behind on the game station in 1.13, he is clearly in love with The Doctor (and Rose).
Jack was still young when he travelled with The Doctor for the first time, well over 100 years younger than he is in Torchwood. So I don’t think age really has anything to do with it. He was sleeping with men even before he died for the first time.
I think he does feel something for Ianto, just not as strongly as Ianto feels for him.
Sorry for accosting you with this rant!
