February 25th, 2008Just Keep Her from Making Fantastic Four 3
Earlier this month, we posted a a picture of Jodie Foster re-enacting a scene from Hitchcock’s The Birds. Lovely.
Now, it appears that Jessica Alba wants in on the reenactment act to promote The Eye. Here’s her version from a recent Latina magazine photoshoot. She also does Scream, Rosemary’s Baby and Psycho. I’m most impressed that she manages to do it all with only two facial expressions.
From the photos, I thought that this was a tongue-in-cheek exercise, just a celebrity having fun with sets, makeup and a camera. Then I saw the accompanying video. It’s supposed to be “high concept”.
Ouch.

*shudders* That picture looks awful.

I was feeling kind of snarky today, but they really are bad, huh?
If they were for fun, then, yeah, they look fun, but not good. They look especially bad compared to that series of photos connected to the Jodie Foster link.
I would still like to see FF3, though. That series has been so craptacular so far, and I want to see how low they can actually go!

Either she’s not trying hard enough… or her acting “skills” are just awful. It looks fun, but not good. I know it probably wasn’t the intention of the magazine to get anywhere close to the professionalism of Annie Leibowitz’s photos, but I just don’t understand why Alba had to call them “high concept.”
I wonder, if they did decide to make FF3, if it would be as horrible as the third Pirates movie. Or Spider-Man 3… I think Hollywood as already gone pretty low when it comes to a lot of existing sequels.

“High Concept.” *snort*
It’s like film blasphemy. You must be very, very cool (read: Jodie Foster) to channel a Hitchcock heroine, especially one who was as harassed by the man himself as Tippi Hendren.
