February 19th, 2008Rumor: Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool
Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool in the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine (let’s just call it Wolverine from here on out).
The general blogosphere consensus seems to be that Reynolds is a good match because he’s played other wisecracking, satirical characters who make references to pop culture, sometimes breaking the fourth wall.
What do you all think? I mostly remember him as the gay nurse in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (I approve) or the guy who kept taking his shirt off for no reason in 2005’s Amityville Horror (I approve).

My favorite role of his was as the bearded (I approve) and brooding Agent Messner in Smokin’ Aces… inasmuch as that’s the only movie I’ve seen with him in it.
My goodness! Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, and now Ryan Reynolds? It’s a veritable manfest of mantaculousness.

Did you guys notice the kerfuffle cause by the un-masked Deadpool in the Wolverine trailer?
He’s not supposed to be pretty under there!
