Julie Newmar, Unretouched and Unretired

Before Earth Kitt, Lee Meriwether, Michelle Pfeiffer and (groan) Halle Berry, there was Julie Newmar as Batman’s purrrfect villainess.  Even if you don’t go back that far, you’ll surely remember 1995’s To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, named for the autographed photo of the legendary beauty which the three unusually cast drag queens of the film carried around with them.

Well, Miss Newmar has placed this advertisement on the back cover of Adweek in the hopes of snagging more corporate sponsorships. She certainly deserves better than this offer, but we here at Angry Puppy would be proud to have her as our emissary!

If only she had been cast in 2004’s Catwoman, I might have been able to sit through the whole thing without so many groans.  But I would never wish such an awful fate on such a lovely lady.
